Couple suffer burn injuries in Ajman apartment fire

Ajman - An ambulance rushed the injured couple to Khalifa hospital

An Asian couple received minor burn injuries during a fire which erupted in their apartment located in Al Nuaimia area gutting all its contents.
According to Col. Nasser Al Zeri, spokesperson of the Ajman Civil defense, they received a call at the operation room at 3pm about the fire and the firefighting team immediately rushed to the site and doused the fire in a short time. The rescue unit saved the couple from the apartment using cranes to bringing them out of the apartment. An ambulance rushed the injured couple to Khalifa hospital where they are currently being treated.
The police and rescue unit of the Civil Department evacuated the tenants of the whole building for their safety.
The fire team after dousing the fire conducted the cooling operation and handed over the site to forensic expert of Ajman police to determine the cause of the fire.
Civil defense fire fighters made great efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring apartment and near building.
