A 30-year-old Lebanese businessman has been charged at a Dubai court for allegedly assaulting a Tunisian cabin crew and threatening to kill him. He also went ahead and damaged the flight attendant's car.
According to the public prosecution records, the man threatened to kill the complainant if he reported him to the police for the two above-mentioned crimes.
The Lebanese man denied charges of making criminal threats, physical assault, damage of private property and verbal abuse at the Court of First Instance.
He claimed he did not recall the incident and that he was drunk on that day. The case dates back to March 3, 2016.
The 33-year-old cabin crew he had returned home at 3:30 am on the incident day. "I wanted to park my car but could not as there was a chaos of fighting people and cars around. I waited for about ten minutes before I honked. One of them verbally abused me and then stepped off his car and came to kick my vehicle. He was then joined by more than six men who damaged my car and tried to beat me up."
The Lebanese man allegedly hit the victim on the head before leaving with his friends. "I took my mobile phone and took a picture of their cars. The accused then threatened he would kill me if I took pictures or if I called the police."
The complainant also said that the defendant tried to open his driver's seat and jumped on his vehicle.
The man's fingerprints were found on the complainant's car part which was damaged, according to a report from the general directorate of criminal evidence and criminology.
