The Ajman Municipality has finished 70 per cent of the infrastructure projects which include the construction of bridges linking vital roads for smooth traffic flow. "These projects will be fully completed by the end of 2020," the civic body authorities said.

The municipality has developed Al Rashidya intersection to link Sheikh Khalifa Road with Abdalla bin Aboud and Sheikh Badr Roads to reduce traffic congestion under Al Rashida and Ghalfa bridges.

Abdul Rahman Al Nuaimi, director-general of the municipality and planning department, said that teams are on track to complete a number of road and infrastructure projects in different parts of the emirate.

He pointed out that the department strives to complete development projects in the emirate to keep pace with urban expansion and population density.

Al Nuaimi explained that the projects are part of the strategic urban plan, which aims to strengthen the infrastructure and ease traffic congestion in Ajman.

He underlined that work on the projects began in the second half of last year and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The municipality is also working on a large number of internal roads in various residential, industrial, and commercial areas, which will be completed by 2020.
