An Emirati man was killed and seven others were injured when their 4x4 vehicle fell off the Bani Yas Bridge following a collision on the UAE National Day.
The crash occurred on Monday morning when the victims' vehicle collided with another car due to sudden change of lanes, said Abu Dhabi Police.
The Emirati man was pronounced dead at the scene. Seven other persons who were in the vehicles sustained between minor to medium injuries and were taken to both Al Mafraq and Al Rahba hospitals for treatment.

Colonel Mohammad Al Shihhi, Director of the External Traffic Police of Abu Dhabi, said the accident occurred when the driver of the 4x4 took a sudden diversion on the road.
"Two vehicles collided with one another due to sudden diversion. This caused the vehicle to fall off the shoulder of the bridge and landed on the ground," said Al Shihhi.
"Police patrols and ambulances rushed to the scene and took care of the injured. They were provided with immediate medical care before they were taken to hospitals."
The officer has urged motorists to drive carefully and to leave a safe distance between vehicles to avoid accidents.
Abu Dhabi Police also called on motorists to abide by the traffic rules and regulations during the UAE National holiday for safety.
Police warned that drivers should refrain from speeding, reckless driving, use of mobile phones while behind the scenes and other traffic violations.
