The Sharjah Police have launched an investigation into the death of an 11-year-old boy who fell from the eighth floor of a building in Al Majaz area on Wednesday night.
The boy identified as H.M.H, a British national of Yemeni origin, died on the spot after he fell from the balcony of his family apartment.
Initial investigations suggest that the boy committed suicide, as he had told his friend earlier that he was planning to do so.
The police received a call at the operations room on Wednesday night about the incident, and a team comprising CID officers from Al Buhairah police station, forensic experts, patrol and ambulance rushed to the building located behind the police station. The boy was found dead lying in a pool of blood.
The family members have been taken into custody for interrogation while the body of the boy has been sent to the forensic laboratory for autopsy.
A close friend of the boy told the police that the deceased had told him two days ago that he was planning to end his life. He had said that he did not want to live anymore and that he hated everything around him.
The police have launched an intensified investigation to ascertain there is no criminal motive behind the death of the boy.
