Top up your Salik via SMS

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) had recently announced the launch of a new service for recharging Salik account through text messages.

The new service is an addition to the currently available Salik account top-up options; including the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) by calling 80072545 (800SALIK) and visiting Salik portal. The move comes as part of the RTA’s continuous efforts to keep pace with the latest systems and standards in offering quality services to Salik customers and boosting customers’ satisfaction efforts.

Engineer Maitha bin Udai, CEO of RTA Public Transport Agency, said: “The new service is so simple as it only requires the customer to write in the text message the following data, and in the following order: Number of Salik Tag, Salik Account Number and Salik PIN; and then send these contents to the service-dedicated number 5959; whether being user of Etisalat or Du network. It remains to be said that the fees involved will be restricted to 30 fils per SMS.
