Three die in car crash
DUBAI — A 32-year-old UAE national SB died inside his car after his vehicle caught fire following a collision with a Dubai Municipality services vehicle on Thursday morning. Two Dubai Municipality workers also died in the accident on Al Khawaneej road.
The accident happened at 11:30am when the car driven by the national hit the municipality vehicle parked on the divider in the middle of the road while the workers were trimming plants. The workers were seriously injured and succumbed to their injuries after they were rushed to hospital, Director of the Traffic Department Major-General Mohammed Saif Al Zafin said.
He said such work should be carried at night and luminous signs must be placed. Al Zafin said the presence of a municipality vehicle at this time was very dangerous, adding that the General Department of Traffic of the Dubai Police will address the issue to ensure that such tragedies do not recur. — news@khaleejtimes.com
