Dubai — The Licensing Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), is all set to stage the 86th open number plates auction on March 21 at Al Ras Ballroom, InterContinental Hotel, Festival City, Dubai. About 109 vehicle plates will be on offer comprising 3, 4 and 5-digit plates in addition to distinguished motorbike plates (Code 2). Registration for the auction will open on March 15.
“The RTA is keen on staging open auctions as they are popular,” said Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat, Director of Vehicles Licensing at RTA.
“The forthcoming open auction comprises an array of select numbers and they include three, four and five-digit plates coded H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O and P. ”
Explaining the participation procedures, Nimaat said: “Registration for the auction will open on March 15 and will continue up to the day of the auction (from 2pm to 4pm). Bidding will start at 4.30pm.
Registration can also be made through RTA customer service centres or through the RTA portal (www.rta.ae). Registration for the auction requires depositing a retrievable security cheque amounting to Dh25,000.
