The Man City manager admits that the Premier League is shaping into a three-team race and that there can be no slip-ups
To promote the summer awareness campaign, the RTA will distribute a road safety booklet and conduct events for the next three months. The main objective of the programme is to ensure that motorists maintain their vehicles, especially if they are embarking on long journeys.
Maitha bin Udai, CEO of the RTA Traffic and Roads Agency, said: “Over the past years, we have gathered wide-ranging data in terms of the preparations needed by the driver for and during the trip. This helped us update the annual booklet of the campaign named “Road Travellers Guide”, which is distributed to passengers in several places including Al Ghuwaifat Border Post, Saudi Consulate in Dubai, Automobile and Touring Club – UAE, and RTA Customer Service Centres.
“This guide offers replies to the most frequent questions asked by road travellers. It comprises full information about vehicle tests to be carried out before starting off, official transactions associated with travelling, personal and practical steps that need to be taken by passengers, important information about the Customs Traffic Book, international emergency and first aid numbers, basic driver’s knowledge about roads and tyres, driving during changing weather conditions, and how to detect and possibly repair some vehicle faults.”
Meanwhile, the sweltering conditions across the UAE are expected to last until tomorrow, with only slight respite from the heat forecast. Temperatures are currently higher than the average for this time of the year with central regions experiencing 48 degree Celsius and coastal areas ranging from between 40 and 46 degree Celsius.
An official of the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology told Khaleej Times: “Since last week, we have experienced hot weather, which has increased. From tomorrow, we expect a decrease in temperatures over the coastal regions, but not a significant decrease.”
