Western Region Head of the Traffic Section I, Major Sohail Saiah Mazruwaei, said the police would be enforcing strict adherence to traffic laws, fitness of tyres and enusring motorists left sufficient distance between motor vehicles. Mazruwaei called on users of the road to abide by speed limits.

The Western Region Traffic Division Public Relations director Captain Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al Ali warned motorists that using tyres that were unfit was a punishable offence which could result in their vehicle getting impounded for a week along with a Dh200 fine.
