Number plates auction

The first number plates auction for vintage vehicles raised Dh1.824 million, announced the Licensing Agency of the RTA.

Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat, Director of Vehicles Licensing at RTA Licensing Agency, said: “Holding this open number plate auction for classic vehicles is in line with our drive aimed at offering equitable chances and transparency for clients, and meeting their continuous desires. There are a considerable number of community members who have classic vehicles aspiring for a suitable mechanism for buying distinguished plates or licensing these vehicles in a way ensuring safe mobility on roads.”

During the auction 63 distinguished plates were available. The top priced plate was the number 13, which fetched Dh305,000.

The next most expensive was number 444, which sold for Dh123,000; the plate 99999 went for Dh90,000 and 5555 was auctioned for Dh85,000.
