Major Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, acting head of Al Ain traffic section, urged drivers to observe traffic rules, drive prudently during rainy weather, leave a safe distance between vehicles, and to stop their cars on the side of the road during high winds, torrential rain, hailstorm and dust-storms in order to avoid traffic accidents.

He encouraged motorists to check the weather forecast before travelling or commuting from one city to another to avoid driving during inclement weather. He emphasised the motorists to choose the right time to travel especially with unpredictable weather changes in different regions in the country.

He also called upon motorists to reduce their speed, adhere to speed limits on internal and external roads, and to drive slowly on turns and in tunnels due to the possibility of large pools of collected water.

Major Al Hemairi urged drivers to prepare for the winter months by inspecting the vehicle’s tires and wiper blades, in addition to any other factor related to road safety.
