The application has been launched by BUZ MMC, a management and marketing consultancy firm in Dubai, and AppWizards, a mobile application developer in the Middle East which developed iShopaholic.

The mobile application assists the shopper in navigating a mall with maps, store directories and phone numbers on their iPhone or BlackBerry. It also allows mall owners to take advantage of location based advertising on behalf of their retail partners, AppWizards founder Karanveer Singh said.

The user’s global position cues what deals are available to the shoppers, and allows them to take immediate advantage of the discount or promotion.

The solution also integrates with other existing social media marketing programmes that malls run as well as notify users who follow their favourite stores on future notifications on deals. Users of the application are encouraged to share information about the mall and the stores within the mall on social platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, added AppWizards Co-Founder Mihir Shah.

“Many property owners recognise the need to move into the mobile marketing space. The iShopaholic UAE solution allows customers to establish a mobile presence in a short amount of time, helps them to avoid the costly development cycle for building a mobile app, and requires no technical resources from the customer,” BUZ MMC Managing Director and CEO Baiju Kurieash said. iShopaholic is now available for free download on the App Store. It will be made available to BlackBerry users as well very soon. Users also have a shot at winning an iPhone4.
