Ivan Giovanovits and Eid Alali, the Al Nasr and Fujairah coaches had contrasting perspectives when they talked to the media after the last round match of the Arabian Gulf League competition on Sunday night.
Al Nasr finished the season with a fourth place finish behind champions, Al Ahli, runners-up Al Ain and Al Wahda.
On the other hand, Fujairah with their 13th berth finish will be going back to Division 1 next season along with bottom of the table Al Shaab.
"Now we have a fourth place in the league after a good run during the half way stage and I think we did reasonably well especially with the back-to-back matches in the AFC Champions League and the Arabian Gulf League. Last week's AFC game and the rush to be back for the League here was hectic. The work order does not stop with this 3-1 win tonight (Sunday) against the game triers Fujairah who are a football city. They will come back as there is depth in talent there," Serbian national Giovanovits said.
"At this point of time I would like to mention one important factor that has been a drawback as far as our efforts in the league here are concerned. There must be bigger crowds to spur players. Tonight (Sunday) the stadium was empty," he added.
Fujairah's interim coach Alali said: "Next season it will be another effort to try re-entering the top league. We have done it before but first we have to sort out the uncertainties in our setup. Too many changes in the technical department were carried out this year."
