Abdulla Alameri fired a hat-trick as Al Wahda worked off Sharjah in the Arabian Gulf Cup on Saturday night.
Alameri scored on 16, 43 and 55 minutes as The Clarets won 3-1 at the Sharjah Stadium. Mohammed Khalfan Ali pulled one back for the hosts, two minutes from time.
The win, Al Wahda's second after their identical victory against Fujairah, strengthened their position atop Group B, while Sharjah stay rooted at the bottom of the table with this being their second defeat in as many matches.
Elsewhere, promoted Khor Fakkan held Group A toppers Al Nasr to a goalless stalemate. The Blues had blanked Ittihad Kalba 3-0 in their tournament opener last week. Meanwhile, it was Khor Fakkan's first point after they had lost to Al Jazira 3-1 previously.
Earlier, late on Friday night, Ajman rode on a slice of luck to hold Fujairah to a 2-2 draw at the Fujairah Stadium.
The Oranges were two goals down after Fernando Gabriel and Jhonnattann Benites were on target for The Red Wolves.
But an own goal by Abdullah Saleh and William Owusu's pinpoint header helped Ajman steal a point in the Group B fixture.
It was Ajman's second draw after they had been held goalless by Hatta on the opening weekend. Meanwhile, Fujairah earned their first point in the competition after they had gone down 3-1 to Al Wahda last week.
Ajman had the fair share of the early exchanges and came close on six minutes but Hasan Abdulrahman's effort hit the woodwork.
Abdulrahman conjured another attempt on 11 minutes but Fujairah shot stopper Abdullah Salem was on hand to make a fine save.
But it was Fujairah who made their chance count with Ajman goalkeeper Ali Mohamed standing no chance against Gabriel's pile driver on 14 minutes.
Gabriel then provided the assist for his Brazilian compatriot Benites, with the latter triumphing after going one-on-one with Ali Mohamed, just on the half hour.
Ajman, though, were handed a lifeline after Abdullah Saleh rifled it into his own net while trying to make a clearance off Mohamed Subil's freekick on 37 minutes.
And The Oranges made it all square just after the break with Ghanaian striker Owusu popping up to head it past Salem on 48 minutes.
