Relaxed formality with modern, contemporary design, Twenty9 Cafe and Lounge is a new indoor and outdoor dining destination located on the 29th floor of the Millennium Place Hotel in Barsha Heights. Catering to all taste buds, Twenty9’s menu encapsulates a variety of popular dishes from all types of cuisines. From a selection of mezzeh, wagyu beef sliders and fish tacos to salads, grilled prawns and shish tawook, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, a live BBQ station and a wide choice of mocktails add to the overall dining experience.

Having arrived hungry and ready to dig in, we started off with their signature hummus platter paired with a selection of mezzeh and tempura prawns. The crunchy tempura prawns served with fried vermicelli, papaya salad and tartar sauce with chives was certainly a fiesta to begin the meal. Roasted in a hot oven and doused in pomegranate molasses for a tangy sauce, mekanek, which is a Lebanese version of beef sausage, was unique to my taste buds.

Down to the mains, we ordered their grills from the live BBQ station, which was seamlessly cooked, fresh, rich in taste and easy to gobble up. We also tried their mocktail, Millennium Sunrise, which was a crisp and fruity spritz containing orange juice, ginger ale and grenadine. The sweet and tangy Fiesta mocktail served included hibiscus dried flowers, honey, cinnamon, orange, apple and cranberry.

Taste (4/5): The food here is an exploration of modern mixology, and scores big on that front. The mocktails and cuisine both aim to showcase the flavours of Arabia. In addition, shisha aficionados can enjoy distinctive flavours made in front of you unwinding from the day

Ambience (5/5): Located on the twenty-ninth floor, this place offers incredible views of the city. Guests can enjoy idyllic sunsets, overlooking stunning views of the Dubai Marina skyline and relaxed music at the outdoor terrace. The indoor lounge looks super-chic and intimate.

Service (4/5): Their staff was extremely helpful, friendly and efficient, making the overall experience memorable. The manager was available for every query we had regarding the menu, with an extensive knowledge of all the cuisines that are served at the restaurant.

Presentation (4/5): Though taste plays a vital role, so does appearance. The food here was very well-plated, neatly arranged and appetising to tempt us to try the dishes. All their dishes were as good in appearance as they were in taste and texture.

Covid-consciousness (4/5): All Covid-19 measures were being strictly followed by the restaurant’s staff members. Face masks and sanitisers, table reservation for six are available for guests. There’s also mandatory three-metre social distancing across tables.
