Flights diverted to UAE airports after heavy rain hits Oman

Heavy rain has caused flash floods in various parts of Oman.

Oman Air flights were diverted on Sunday from the from Muscat International Airport to UAE airports due to heavy rains.
"We would like to bring to your attention that due to torrential rain this evening, our Kathmandu-Muscat flight WY 338 had to be diverted to Sharjah Airport, while our Bangalore-Muscat flight WY-284 was diverted to Dubai airport. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused to our affected guests," the airline announced in its Twitter account.
Heavy rain has caused flash floods in various parts of Oman since Friday. According to a Times Oman report, three people died as a result of the rain in the past two days.
The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) of the Sultanate has called on everyone to take precautions during thunderstorms and not to cross any wadis. The authority has also advised citizens and residents to avoid low-lying areas and not to sail in the ocean during this period.
