ASRY brings MAN Diesel to Bahrain

The new MAN workshop area will allow their service engineers to provide authorised support to their products on vessels calling at ASRY and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

ASRY, the leading ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will see MAN Diesel & Turbo, the world’s leading supplier of large diesel engines and turbomachinery, take a permanent presence in the shipyard. The new MAN workshop area will allow their service engineers to provide authorised support to their products on vessels calling at ASRY and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The agreement is the latest development in ‘Project Jupiter’, an initiative to give ASRY the leading portfolio of on-site specialist contractors in the Middle East. The new service is operational from November 1, 2014.

“ASRY is proud to have attracted one of the most recognised names in the global marine industry to Bahrain,” said Nils Kristian Berge, ASRY Chief Executive, “and we will undoubtedly benefit from having authorised experts on hand to provide quick services and repairs to the many customers. ”

Bapco booth a success at ADIPEC 2014

The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) stand at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (Adipec) 2014 has turned out to be a major success, attracting a large number of visitors and industry figures.

Sofitel Bahrain hosts chef Simonin

Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa hosted Michelin starred chef Frederic Simonin on his first visit to the region from November 11 to 15th giving Sofitel’s guests the chance to experience Michelin star gastronomy. Several distinguished guests including diplomats, government officials and members of the community attended the event.

BBK boosts its ATM network

The BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, announced the introduction of 2 new offsite ATMs at Manama Plaza (Mahooz) and Al Reem Centre (East Riffa). The BBK has one of the largest distribution networks in Bahrain with 48 ATMs, 6 cash deposit machines (CDMs), seven FMs and nine branches, It is committed to maintaining its leading position in the market by adding new ATMs in suitable locations.

Al Malkiya beach clean-up drive

The Westin and Le Meridien Bahrain City Centre’s associates have joined hands to clean Al Malkiya Beach in the Northern Municipality.

Associates from both hotels across all departments including management participated in the activity. Splendid sunshine and cool breeze enthused the associates who donned special gloves, rakes and spades given by the Northern Municipality. Scores of large rubbish bags were filled with debris found on the beach. Plastic bags, bottles, bottle caps, cans and can lids, and drift wood were carefully removed.
