At least 900 cats take part in the show that drew more than 15,000 admirers
A New Zealand father put up a picture of his 8-year-old daughter with her first kill. And as hunting tradition dictates, he posted a picture of her eating the deer's heart.
The NZ Woman Hunters page, which had 33,000 followers, attracted a flood of criticism after the "proud" father, known as Johnny, posted pictures of his daughter Chloe with her kill. Not only that the page is now 'unavailable' on Facebook and has been taken down.
Many users were outraged by the picture.
The father who posted a photo of his 8-year-old daughter taking a bloody bite out of the "warm quivering heart" of a deer she just killed, said on his post "check out my little pink ninja princess Chloe (8) with her first deer a young stag," Yuile wrote in the post, before detailing the young girl's first bounty."
Here's his full post.
The young girl however is unfazed.
She told NZ Stuff she thought the deer's heart 'tasted quite nice'. She said she felt inspired to take part in the hunting tradition after watching her uncle do the same thing.
The outrage on Twitter was also instantaneous.
But there were some who thought the whole movement was outrageous.
Catherine Maura Roche commented on a Facebook post saying, The dad literally stated that his daughter wanted to do it because her uncle did it. He specified that it was NOT ritualistic in any way and this was not her first kill (though it was her first deer)
