If reports are anything to go by, Sandra Bullock is apparently disappointed that her friend and actor George Clooney got engaged to British lawyer Amal Alamuddin.
“Sandra has secretly carried a torch for George for years. As long as he was single, Sandra held out hope that they might get together romantically someday. But now George is set to marry Amal,” a source told National Enquirer.
“After the news came out (about George’s en-gagement), Sandra wailed to a friend: ‘That could have been me!’” added the source.
Meanwhile, Alamuddin flashed a diamond sparkler while dining at a Malibu restaurant with the Oscar winner and friends on April 24.
The source continued: “Hearing about that, just devastated Sandy. It meant that George was off the market for good. It’s hard for Sandy to wrap her mind around it.”
No babies for the Clooneys?
According to sources, Clooney and Amal are not planning to start a family, reports showbizspy.com.
“Before he popped the question, George made Amal agree not to have any kids. She and George want to continue to travel and work, and they both believe that would be impossible with a child in tow,” said a source.
“He will spend more time in London to be with Amal. The wedding will take place within a year. Her family’s pretty old-fashioned, so they won’t be able to wait for long,” added the source.
