Weather: Waves up to 10ft high to hit UAE offshore, temperature to dip

The relative humidity will increase by night.

Cloudy skies, rough winds and high waves are expected to hit UAE over the weekend as weather forecasters predict a slight drop in temperature.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has warned sea-goers of rough seas in the Arabian Gulf as a result of fresh wind, reaching 55 km/hr. The NCM said that wave height is expected to reach between 6 to 8 feet, peaking up to 10 feet high until Friday 6am .

According to its five-day forecast, the NCM said that the weather until Monday will be fair to partly cloudy, especially over eastern areas, with a speed of 25-35km/hr, reaching 55km/hr, causing blowing dust over the exposed areas. There will be "a drop in temperature" by Thursday, with a probability of fog or mist formation over some internal areas.

In coastal areas, the average minimum temperature will hover between 13 -17°C while the maximum temperature will be between 22- 26°C . It will be slightly hotter in internal areas with the minimum temperature hitting between 11 - 15°C and maximum temperature at 23 - 27°C .
"It will be cooler in the mountain region with mercury dropping between 9 - 13°C for the average minimum temperature and 16 - 21°C for the maximum temperature," NCM added.

Moreover, the maximum level of humidity will range between 65 -85 per cent in coastal areas; 60 - 80 per cent in internal areas and 45 -65per cent in mountain area.
"The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and early morning over some coastal areas, fog or mist may form, especially in the western area," the NCM shared.

It will also be fair to partly cloudy over some eastern areas with light to moderate winds in general. Sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf, becoming moderate by late night, while it will be moderate in Oman Sea, NCM added.
