Widespread dust, windy weather conditions, and poor visibility will continue to prevail across the UAE till Tuesday, said meteorologists at the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM). Conditions are set to improve only on Tuesday and residents will feel rising temperatures as well.
The centre has also issued a warning to residents to avoid driving during harsh weather and take precautions if they are asthma patients or suffer from dust allergies.  
The NCM had issued a warning of a dust storm in the UAE early Sunday morning after residents were greeted with poor visibility and dust storms. However, none of the flights going in and out of the country has been cancelled due to bad weather.
Mohammed Alkhajeh, a weather expert at the NCM, said: "From May 13 until May 14, fresh wind and widespread dust will cover most of the UAE. There will be continued dust suspension in the air." Visibility is at less than 1,000 metres at times. Hence, driving in this condition is not recommended. He added: "Wind speed is expected to reduce by night, but dust will continue till tomorrow. The weather will improve the day after tomorrow (Tuesday), but conditions will be hazy as well.

"After Tuesday, the conditions will improve considerably, but temperatures will rise by five to six degrees. Currently, temperatures have dropped, especially in coastal areas. The next three to four days are expected to be hotter by five to six degrees."
Residents will also experience humidity. The coastal area humidity is being calculated at 50 to 66 per cent, and the in-land area will experience 35 to 55 per cent.  The centre also advised residents to cover their faces while walking outside. "Especially those persons suffering from asthma and facing allergies. People must be on alert and comply with advice issued by the authorities," Alkhajeh added.
