In light of the winter weather conditions, especially in the early morning, Abu Dhabi Police posted an advisory on their official social media pages for all motorists.
They urged drivers to be cautious due to low visibility during foggy conditions.
Motorists should also exercise caution and avoid overtaking other vehicles while driving in reduced visibility conditions. Driving in foggy weather against concerned authorities' instructions will also result in a Dh500 fine, according to the Dubai Police list of Black Points of Traffic Violations.
Police added: "And for your safety and for the safety of others on the road, please do not be distracted by taking any videos or using your phone."
Article 32 of the Traffic Rules and Regulations law states that driving and using your mobile phone can result in a Dh800 fine and 4 traffic points.

Other dangerous driving practices during foggy weather, like using high beam - will be slapped with a Dh500 fine and four black points.
"Unnecessarily using the hazard lights while driving in foggy conditions can distract other motorists and lead to dangerous accidents," the AD police said in an earlier post.
The police urged motorists to use hazard lights only when stopping at the roadside when there is an accident or "other impediments that necessitate stopping in the middle of the road, or in case of a real danger ahead that requires warning other vehicles".
