Tributes poured in from all over the UAE on Tuesday over the death of Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qassimi, son of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. He passed away in UK on Monday (July 1), according to a statement issued by the Ruler's Court today.
The Ruler's official account on Instagram was one of the first to break the news of the son's passing - with the display picture changing to a monochrome picture of Sheikh Khalid.
The Ruler's account also reposted an emotional tribute video posted by Sharjah News on Instagram - highlighting some memorable father-son moments from over the years.

Earlier today, President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Al Nahyan condoled with the Qasimi family over Sheikh Khalid's death, and announced a three-day mourning period - effective from the time the body arrived in UAE.
The funeral prayer date will be announced later, Wam reported.
