UAE leaders greet residents on New Year

Dubai - Leaders took to Twitter just hours before the UAE welcomes 2019.

On the eve of 2019, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took to Twitter to greet UAE residents. He also wished the people of the UAE and the Arab region a peaceful 2019.

Just hours before the UAE marks the beginning of 2019 with spectacular firework displays planned across the emirates, Sheikh Mohammed wrote on his Twitter handle:
As we welcome 2019, we look forward to achieving new hopes, dreams and ambitions in our continued belief that nothing is impossible. I wish the people of the UAE, the Arab region and the world a happy new year filled with peace, tolerance, and compassion.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has also sent a similar greeting to UAE residents. Taking to Twitter, the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince expressed his excitement for 2019, which has been recognised as the "Year of Tolerance".
Delighted at the collective efforts of our people in 2018 and look forward to 2019, the Year of Tolerance. Our people's hard work & dedication helps us march ahead powerfully. We look forward to peace and security prevailing across the world, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed wrote.
