In a novel initiative, a Dubai bank will be giving out its new credit and debit cards in boxes featuring artworks of people of determination.
Noor Bank has tied up with Mawaheb from Beautiful People, a local art studio for people of determination, to create unique artwork for the bank's credit and debit card packaging.
Additionally, customers will also receive a link to the Mawaheb website, an online store that sells the life-size pieces, or can view the portfolio available for purchase.
The bank selected four paintings from Emirati and non-Emirati artists. Each artist created their paintings based on different themes, inspired by their life experiences and views of the world.
Mufazzal Kajiji, head of retail banking at Noor Bank, told Khaleej Times: "As a bank with Shari'a compliant values, we regularly engage with the wider community and make contributions to support noteworthy initiatives aimed towards promoting social good. This collaboration not only serves that purpose, but also ensures our customers receive beautiful, contemporary designs on their card packaging."
The bank has rolled out the card packs for one year to all customers availing a new debit or credit card.
Wemmy de Maaker, founder and managing director of Mawaheb from Beautiful People, said: "Mawaheb artists are delighted with this opportunity to showcase their work. It has made them and their family very proud. The fact that their profile is on the box as well is making them as an artist more visible and recognised."
Asma Baker, who has painted a beautiful flower for the bank's credit card box, said: "To see my work featured on the credit card box is a huge honour for me and I feel more accepted by the fact that people recognise my talent and have appreciated it."
Another artist Abdulla Lutfi, whose work has been used said: "The bank has added the black and white board that was created by me on their debit card boxes. I feel proud to see my work of art being used by the bank for their customer and I am grateful that I am being acknowledged as an artist."
