A 14-year-old Arab teenager sustained second-degree burns after he used some inflammable material that triggered fire in the garden of an abandoned villa in RAK's Dahan area.
Sources with the RAK civil defence said they were alerted about the fire around 7:15pm.
"Firefighters and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene where a boy had received burn injuries caused by a blaze."
The teenager was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment and medical care, while the fire file was referred to the bodies concerned for legal procedures.
"The minor fire was quickly put out using water and foam before the flames could spread to nearby houses."
The civil defence officials said parents need to keep an eye on their kids and advise them not to play with lighters or inflammable liquids to avoid accidents.

Road mishap victim rushed to hospital

The RAK civil defence teams have also shifted a senior Emirati citizen involved in a collision between a heavy truck and a car to the hospital for treatment.
The accident took place on Daqdaqa Road, which was partially covered with fuel pouring out of the two vehicles.
The teams detached the battery of the car to prevent any possible fire. The road was cleared of the fuel and reopened for traffic.
