An airport security check guard has been accused of stealing money from traveller.
On November 13, 2017, the expatriate woman was checking in her bags prior to her flight's departure to her home country at 8:30am, as per Al Khaleej report.
After passing the checkpoint, she couldn't find her $1,300 (Dh4,774) and accused the guard who handled her bag of stealing the money.
The woman filed a complaint against the security guard at the airport.
The Sharjah Criminal Court adjourned the case to April 30.
The defence attorney, Salem Obaid bin Sahouh, said that his client denied the charge. He claimed the victim's statements at the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Court were contradictory.
He argued the woman had apparently exchanged the money the next day at the airport's cashier, not on the day the had lost the money.
