The Ras Al Khaimah Police cracked four robberies by nabbing a gang that stole from cars and houses, within 48 hours of the crime.
The four separate robberies took place at different places and time in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah last week, a top police official said.
Brigadier Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, deputy general commander of Ras Al Khaimah
Police, said the suspects robbed cash and valuables, worth Dh200,000, from several cars and houses.
"The robbers, of various nationalities, sneaked into a number of houses in the first two reported robberies."
In the third incident, they attacked a woman driver and robbed her of her money, he added.
"They also attacked and broke into some taxis and stole valuable items while committing the fourth robbery."
Alerted about the robberies, the RAK Police immediately launched an intensive investigation, he underlined.
"The CID sleuths tracked down the criminals and arrested them in just 48 hours."
Col Ahmad Saeed Mansur, director of the criminal investigations department, RAK Police, said they formed four different search and investigation teams to solve the four robberies.
"Investigations showed that the robbers were under the influence of narcotics when they committed the crimes."
Probe is still on, he pointed out, adding:"We need to get detailed information about the criminals and if there are more robbers involved."
The criminals will be referred to the court after completion of the investigation, he added.
"All members of the society are urged to never keep cash or valuable items in their vehicles or leave the engine running while the vehicle is unattended."
Surveillance cameras are also recommended in every house to ensure safety and protection of people and properties, he said.
