Trio hacks trader's account to steal Dh1 million in Dubai

They got the PIN and user name from the bank.

Three Asians have been accused of hacking into an European businessman's bank account and stealing Dh1.05 million. They have been referred by the Dubai public prosecution to the Dubai Criminal Court.
According to a report in Al Bayan, the trio stole the money using a fake name to carry out online transaction.
The prosecution revealed that the accused forged a document purportedly issued by the victim, and presented it to a telecommunication company to receive replacement of a 'lost' mobile sim card.
They also faked his passport and were able to get a bank card for his account. The accused carried out a transaction, after logging into the victim's account and transferred the money from there.

The victim, who was in China then, received four messages after coming back to Dubai. The messages revealed that Dh1.05 million was transferred from his account.
According to the report, the victim's son said that his father remained unaware of the theft as he couldn't access the mobile service in China. When he returned to Dubai and realised that his account had been hacked, he called the police, his son added.
