There’s nothing that compares to the experience of being on a boat on New Year’s Eve to watch one of the most spectacular fireworks in Dubai. You don’t need to rent out a private yacht to catch the fireworks from the sea. A slew of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) marine services will take you on a ride to remember.

What are your options?

You can book a seat any of the following:

>> Normal abra

>> AC abra

>> Water bus

>> Dubai Ferry

Where can you catch these boats?

There are five marine transport stations running special service on NYE.

>> Al Seef Marine Station

>> Al Ghubaiba Marine Station (Dubai Creek)

>> Marina Mall Station (Dubai Marina)

>> Sheikh Zayed Road (Dubai Water Canal)

>> Al Jaddaf Marine Station

What are the timings of this service?

Abra and Dubai Ferry services start from 9.30pm. There are four ferry services scheduled from Dubai Marina Mall, and one each from Sheikh Zayed, Al Ghubaiba, and Al Seef. All these ferries will start at 9.30pm and will cater to different target celebration points. Passengers will be dropped off at the respective stations by 1.30am.

Which are the target celebration points?

>> Al Seef: Burj Al Arab (one ferry service)

>> Al Ghubaiba: Burj Khalifa (one ferry service)

>> Sheikh Zayed Road: Burj Al Arab (one ferry service)

>> Dubai Marina: Burj Khalifa (four ferry services)

What is the capacity per boat?

Covid safety precautions have restricted the seating capacity of the ferries. So, instead of the usual 100 that can be accommodated, Dubai Ferry now can seat only 64 passengers with 54 in Silver class and remaining 8 in gold. Abras can accommodate 10 passengers each.

How much does the service cost?

>> Abra: Dh125 for all above two years

>> Dubai Ferry: Dh300 for silver class; Dh450 for gold class; Children between the age of 2 and 10 get tickets at half the price.

How to book any of these services?

Send an email to wtbook@rta.ae, book online at www.rta.ae, or at one of the marine stations.
