According to a senior official with the ministry of infrastructure development, only one of the three-lane arterial road will be closed in both directions from 1am on Friday, March 17 to 5am Sunday, March 19.
Eng. Ahmed Al Hammadi, manager of road department with the ministry, said all motorists should be extra careful, follow road signs, and observe speed limits.
The move is in line with the ministry's strategy to adopt the latest international practices in terms of road projects to ensure high quality road networks, he pointed out. "This will boost transport across the country, and support our economic growth."
Al Hammadi confirmed that the ministry spares no effort to boost the transport and movement of both Emirati citizens and residents alike across the country.
"Such development projects bolster the UAE vision and the ministry strategy to build up and develop a high quality federal road network that boosts the economy development, prosperity and welfare."
