Prison visiting timings fixed

ABU DHABI - The Department of Punitive and Correctional Institution in Abu Dhabi has fixed the visiting time to jails of Al Wathba, Al Ain and the Juveniles Care section in Al Mafraq during Eid Al Adha.

According to the schedule, the visiting timings are from 8am to 1pm and from 3pm to 5pm.

Today will be designated to expatriate men visiting male inmates, while tomorrow will be set aside for women visiting both men and women inmates, said Colonel Attiq Ibrahim Al Dhahiri, Deputy Director of the Department of Punitive and correctional Institution.


November 8 is assigned to Arab men to visit male inmates while November 9 has been set aside for the visit of Arab and foreign men to women inmates.

In Fujairah, Men and women convicts and female detainees can be visited from 8am to 1.50pm today, said Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Hamdan Al Zauodi, Director of the Department of Punitive and correctional Institution.


In the evening, between 3pm and 5.30pm, Emiratis, Arab nationals and those who do not carry official ID documents will be allowed to visit the men inmates, he said.On the second day of Eid, visiting hours will be between 8am and 1pm and 3pm to 5.30pm. Visitors can meet men and women convicts from various nationalities during this time, he added.
