Commander Sohail Akhtar, the head of the delegation, said that the visit was a special gesture marking the decades-old strong cooperation between the navies of the two brotherly countries, which has strengthened and expanded with the passage of time.

"The credit for this relationship goes to the visionary founder of the UAE, the late president Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who initiated a great naval cooperation between the two countries in the early 1970s, which not only led to the training of personnel but also a high level of bilateral cooperation covering all aspects of life."
