Iqra inter-school quiz contest from tomorrow
DUBAI - The Iqra Management Training and Consultancy (IMTC) in Dubai will host its first inter-school quiz competition at its premises at Al Mulla Plaza tomorrow and on February 9, followed by the finals on February 19, 2003.
Around 12 private schools from Dubai will participate in the competition, said Dr S.M. Tahir, Director of IMTC at a Press conference last week. He said that the event, which will eventually become an annual event for schools in Dubai and other emirates, aims at helping students break the monotony of school and studies.
Designed on the lines of offering a mix of education and entertainment, the quiz competition this year will focus on questions related to the history of the UAE beginning from its unification in 1971 to date. The quiz will focus on the UAE's history, culture, sports and other related fields, Dr Tahir said. The preliminary rounds will be followed by the semifinals from February 16 to 18.
