Four Rescued, One Missing in Tug-boat Mishap
ABU DHABI — The coast guard of the Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA) rescued four men after a tugboat overturned off the Zayed Port in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
However, the fifth member of the tug-boat crew is still missing.
The tugboat was towing the cargo vessel JM Hong Kong into port when it stopped suddenly.
The cargo vessel rear-ended the small boat, capsizing it and sending all five crew members on board into the sea.
The sea traffic control tower at Mina Zayed received news of the collision at approximately 9.45pm, and dispatched the coast guard team of the CNIA, an independently established entity based in Abu Dhabi and affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, to the site.
