Dubai RTA's Public Transport Agency has recently offered Umrah trip to 30 affiliated public bus drivers with the aim of raising their job satisfaction and bringing happiness to them.
"This initiative is part of our social responsibility to a segment of RTA's employees, the bus drivers to enhance their happiness and sense of satisfaction," said Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, director of buses at Public Transport Agency.
"It marks the keenness of RTA to support this important segment and avail them of this Islamic ritual. During the trip, a team from the Agency accompanied the drivers to ensure they are well served in hotels, transportation and catering besides sourcing religious scholars (Ulama) to educate them about Umrah.

"Priority in selection was given to outstanding drivers who have not performed Umrah and whose records are free from driving and traffic accidents over two successive years, and maintain a clean conduct sheet. The conditions also gave preference to drivers who have completed five years in service or more, among other technical conditions," explained Al Ali.
He praised the huge efforts of the accompanying team, which had contributed, to the success of the trip and the happiness of drivers. During the trip, two lectures were delivered on the lessons learned from Umrah.
Upon arrival from the trip, the drivers offered deep thanks to the Public Transport Agency for this kind gesture; which will strengthen the relations between the Agency and employees and enhance the working environment.
