New Year 2018 is just 10 days away, and people across the UAE are preparing to visit iconic landmarks to enjoy the festivities.
Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, The Palm, Festival City, JBR and Global Village are some of the spots where revelers can come together to watch fireworks, light shows and other celebrations to ring in the new year.
Earlier this month, Dubai-based master developer Emaar, which owns and operates Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall, announced that it has organised a unique light show to ring in the New Year. The company, however, did not specify if fireworks will be held alongside the show or not.
Now, toeing the line, another mega developer, Meraas, has confirmed to Khaleej Times that there will be no fireworks at JBR.
"We will not have fireworks at JBR, Laa Mers and Al Seef this year," Meraas, which manages these properties, told Khaleej Times.
