Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani

Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani have teamed up to co-write and perform the song Shine for the upcoming family comedy Paddington. The film will be released in the U.S. and Canada on January 16 by The Weinstein Co. with a qualifying Academy Awards run in December. The song is not included in the British version of the film. Williams and Stefani previously teamed up on Hollaback Girl, Can I Have It Like That and Spark the Fire. Williams received an Academy Award nomination for his original song Happy in Despicable Me 2. Ben Whishaw replaced Colin Firth as the voice of Paddington during the summer.

The film, produced by Gravity and Harry Potter producer David Heyman, stars Nicole Kidman as a villainous taxidermist, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Julie Walters. The film follows the comic misadventures of the bear from darkest Peru who’s found at Paddington Station and adopted by a London family. “What a wonderful opportunity, as a parent, to contribute to something as classic, authentic and generational to all of our lives, as Paddington Bear,” Williams said.

Chanel unveiled a sneak peek on Monday of a splashy music video featuring Williams and Cara Delevingne that retraces the birth of the fashion house’s iconi

A sample of the clip has Williams in the role of Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph waltzing in a dark and dreamy ballroom with wife Sisi, played by Delevingne, who’s gone brunette for the occasion.c jacket.

The full eight-minute video, directed by designer Karl Lagerfeld, is to premiere at Chanel’s December 2 fashion show in Austria. In the clip, titled Reincarnation, the musician sings his new song CC The World with the model, according to Chanel.

It’s a video drawn from the moment that inspired fashion house founder Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel to create her iconic jacket. In that episode Chanel was staying at a hotel in the suburbs of Salzburg in 1954 when the outfit of a lift operator there gave her the idea for the piece of fashion history.

“It was the moment to show the origins of the Chanel jacket ... the jacket of a lift operator reincarnated as a timeless piece of women’s clothing,” said Lagerfeld.
