This initiative has evolved from the directives laid down by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council so as to empower clubs within Dubai towards the goal of professionalism.

“In the past the Dubai Sports Council has organised similar initiatives to usher in professionalism in the field of sports psychology and media, and now it is time to add a different dimension through the use of technology to enhance the sports scene both at the individual and club levels,” stated Dr Ahmed Al Sharif, secretary-general of Dubai Sports Council.

“I hope that through this latest forum we get to realise the huge impact technology plays in the field of achieving sporting excellence. I am confident that this forum will allow our Dubai clubs to integrate the latest uses of technology and empower sportsmen at the club and country level,” Dr Al Sharif said.

He further affirmed that the organising of the forum falls within the purview of the Dubai Sports Council’s. ‘2015 Strategic Plan’ that encourages a development of sports at a uniform level.

“Our clubs need to see the fact that sport is not just about buying and selling professionals as players, but it much more than this aspect. And hence it is an event of this nature that will boost professionalism and bring out the best from our clubs,” he added.

The Dubai Sports Council has invited some of the top professional speakers in the field from the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

“We will ensure the forum is an interactive one where participants from the clubs will have an opportunity to be involved and engaged through various activities on the three days of the event,” DrAl Sharif stated.

“Our aim is to take sport to the next level and this forum can only help us hasten this process of professionalism in our clubs,” he added.
