Dubai — Riding on Abdul Razzak’s five-wicket haul, Opener XI won their opener in the 14th Dulsco Ramadan Cricket by handing a five-wicket defeat to Drehomes at the Zabeel Park Cricket Ground, herer, on Tuesday night.

Opener XI bundled out Drehomes for 103 in 15.3 after Razzak’s rocking spell and then overhauled the target losing five wickets with 16 balls to spare. Drehomes captain Salman Khan opted to bat first after winning the toss only to find his side in danger immediately after the start. The skipper himself started the slide falling to wrecker-in-chief Razzak in the very first over. Razzak picked two more wickets in his second over to reduce Drehomes to 12-3. Razzak first castled Mudasir Mustaq and then caught Hashim Mohammad plumb in front of the wicket.

At the other end, opener Wahid Sajid was in blistering mood as he hammered four sixes and a four. He fell after making 36 off 19 balls and it was an uphill task for Drehomes from thereon but Sufiyank Farooq (17), Wali Khan (13) and Mehboob Ali (17 not out ) gave some respectability to the innings with some lusty hits. Razzak finished with terrific figures of 4-0-11-5 and found good support from Barjinder (3-18) as they wrapped up Drehomes innings at 103 in the 16th over. When Opener XI started their chase, they faced some difficulty at the start with openers Noman Farooq (7) and Aftab Jasnik (5) back in the pavilion making it 22-2 in the third over.
