The Tourism Development & Investment Company has awarded the main construction contract valuing Dh1.25 billion for Mamsha Al Saadiyat, the first residential development within the Saadiyat Cultural District.
The project was won by a joint venture between San Jose Contracting and Pivot Engineering & General Contracting. The project is scheduled to be delivered in the second half of 2018.
Mamsha Al Saadiyat, a 1.4km beachfront mixed-use project, will offer residents a luxurious beach-inspired lifestyle as well as easy access to diverse retail, dining and entertainment features; minutes from the heart of Abu Dhabi's future cultural hub, featuring three world-class museums designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects - Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
The development will feature nine low-rise residential buildings with a total number of 461 units, of which 414 are apartments ranging from one to four-bedroom apartments as well as five-bedroom duplex penthouses and 47 townhouses.
Each penthouse features a private swimming pool and terrace as well as a modern kitchen, two living rooms and a dining room, plus a maid's room and driver's room. The gross floor area of the apartments will range from approximately 106 to 454 sqm, while the townhouses will range from approximately 227 to 315 sqm.
The complete project, which will be developed in phases, will also encompass a serviced-apartment building and a retail destination offering approximately 5,000 sqm of leasable area, for both retail and dining outlets.
The townhouses at Mamsha Al Saadiyat available for prospective residents are located on the ground floor of each building. Ranging in size from two to three bedrooms, the townhouses also feature a modern kitchen, living and dining rooms as well as a maid's room.
Some townhouses will also have a roof garden that offers direct access to the podium.
Ali Majed Al Mansoori, TDIC's chairman, said that the the main contract for Mamsha Al Saadiyat will further strengthen Saadiyat's appeal as a destination of choice. "We have already received increased interest for this unique project during our recent participation in Cityscape Abu Dhabi, given its ideal location in the Saadiyat Cultural District and close to the iconic museums. We are confident that once completed, it will drive demand for our real estate offerings on Saadiyat even further."
