Swarovski turns up the bling with Sparkling Couture exhibition
Swarovski-themed Sparkle Towers at Dubai Marina
This couture exhibition is a first for the brand and 40 fashion labels from across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific region have been invited to take part.
For Austrian producer of luxury cut crystals, Swarovski, Dubai is a city that is always in focus. The recently opened Hyatt Regency in the Healthcare City is now home to one of the largest crystal panel installations in the world. It has also announced a tie-up with Teyban, a Dubai-based developer, to build Sparkle Towers in Dubai Marina. A luxury resort style residential project, it will have views of the Marina.
This week Swarovski makes a fashion statement in the city with its one-day exhibition on Wednesday at the Madinat, Jumeriah called, Sparkling Couture.
Swarovski is the global leader in cut crystals and fashion jewellery, and couturiers from all across the world depend on their crystals to add some sparkle to their creations.
This couture exhibition is a first for the brand and 40 fashion labels from across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific region have been invited to take part.
Sparkling Couture will showcase one-of-a-kind pieces from 40 brands from across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Iran, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Australia.
From modest wear to evening couture, from bridal wear to costume jewellery, it is about showcasing the wonders of crystal in the fashion industry.
From the Emirates there are 10 designers invited, including Rizwan and Raghda Taryam. From India there is Suneet Varma and JJ Valaya, Amrapali Jewellers and Joy Shoes, and from Pakistan you can look forward to the designs of Faraz Manan. The focus on modest wear gives it a special connect to the region, as this is a fashion segment that is increasingly receiving more attention.
