The UAE's Year of Reading, as your columnist rightly said, will boost creativity. We cannot dream and prosper without ideas for a better future. Ideas are the starting blocks for rising to challenges. The UAE has no shortage of visionaries and dreamers and its leaders have focused on innovation and knowledge to spur growth. Oil is a resource of the past. What will drive the future is human resources who are well read and aware of the ways of the world. Those who read gain wisdom and no amount of riches can compensate for than that.
