NO ENTRY

There is an urgent need for the RTA to put a more visible ‘no entry’ signboard along with
road marking on the road just behind Burjuman Mall and Arjan Rotana hotel.

Mostly out of town motorists from other Emirates and GCC countries wanting to go to the Burjuman mall and not familiar with the actual route fail to notice the ‘only left turn’ traffic sign board and the road marking.

This makes them enter a no entry road and risk a head on collision course with vehicles which are coming correctly onto the same road from Arjan Rotana Hotel and Wahat Al Nakheel/Andlus Plaza buildings’ side.

It is not uncommon to find shards of vehicle’s tempered safety glass on this small stretch of road indicating a collision between vehicles. On weekends one regularly hears a crash and bang sound followed by police sirens on this road signifying a collision which may have been prevented.

Being a resident of one of the buildings on the above mentioned road, returning home, I have frequently found myself honking desperately and flashing my cars headlights to warn the motorists who inadvertently wander into this one way street. The common refrain of most of these motorists is that they simply did not know that they had entered a No Entry Road as there was no clear sign board.
