His richly textured voice, laden with melody, mesmerised ghazal lovers. He was an institution of singing. His refined rendition, inimitable style, immaculate diction and mellifluous voice influenced most ghazal singers. He had to face many challenges in the initial days. But he never succumbed to odd situations. He takes a lion’s share in globalising ghazals. His death has caused a huge void in the world of ghazals. His absence will be deeply felt. Fans will certainly savour the legacy that he has left behind, a treasure trough of ultimate beautiful melodies.
