The attempted military coup in Turkey is a clear violation of international law. A military coup is an immoral and illegal means to ascend to power. The replacement of a legitimate and democratic order with a military is a license to massive violations of human rights.
The attempted Turkish coup is not the first, and it will not be the last. President Erdogan must take urgent steps to mollify his 'own' autocratic rule. His foreign policy in the war-torn areas needs to be drastically overhauled.
His current foreign and defence policies are totally confusing to the Turkish people and to the Turkish armed forces.
