Use of slang and profane language in daily conversations has become a much accepted norm among the youth and the nuances of the subtle aspects of English language has taken a back seat. A certain amount of inappropriate expressions have also found their way into written and spoken expression due to the influence of mobile texting and social networking sites. Special efforts should be taken to preserve the right use of English language in the Gulf region.
