Q-A new six-month job-seeker visa was introduced in the UAE recently. My friend is planning to come to the UAE soon. How can he apply for this particular type of visa and if he cannot do so, can you please kindly explain as to what are the options open to him? What is the maximum time period that he can stay in the country for on a visit visa?
A-Pursuant to your queries, it should be noted that the six month job-seeker visa announced earlier this year is applicable for those residents who have left their employment, whether by resignation or termination, and are looking for new employment. Therefore, this facility is not applicable for visitors who intend to travel to the UAE to seek employment opportunities. However, your friend may travel to the UAE on a visit or tourist visa. Based on your friend's requirements he can opt for 14 days or 90 days visa.
Further, your friend may also apply for jobs through online job portal or potential employers' website from his home country.
