The National Accountability Bureau of Pakistan has said that a total of Rs7,100 crore was seized from corrupt elements and has been deposited in the government treasury.

According to a report in Pakistani media, NAB chairman Justice (retd.) Javed Iqbal gave this information on Tuesday. In a board meeting, he said: "As per the work details of previous 22 months it was found that the NAB has seized Rs7,100 crore and deposited this amount to the government treasury. It's a record in itself."

He said the bureau aims to set everyone's accountability and this can only be achieved by forming an anti-corruption policy at the national level and uproot white collar crimes from the government machinery.
